Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Intensive Recovery Ampoules

One of the newest additions to the Advanced Night Repair line is Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Intensive Recovery Ampoules.

These ampoules might remind people of the famous Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Ampoules which have been popular for so long. Ampoules are a way to keep ingredients fresh and reduce the levels of preservatives needed.

While this new product is nice, it is a bit oily and while unscented, it smells a bit like cooking oil. I also didn't feel like one ampoule was quite enough, they are a bit on the small side. They are designed to be applied over Advanced Night Repair to help calm and soothe stressed, reactive skin. Used together Lauder says it improves the skin barrier function after two weeks.

I like that the product is silicone free and felt soothing, but did find it rather oily and I didn't feel that it absorbed very well. It seems to be more about providing a protective barrier rather than absorbing completely. As a huge fan of their Advanced Night Repair I wasn't as enthusiastic about the ampoules. This product seems to be a replacement for their former Advanced Night Repair Concentrate which they discontinued years ago.

This product comes packaged in an elegant jar with a gold lid and it looks expensive. A jar of 60 ampoules retails for $110 at Estee Lauder counters and website.
