Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme + Global Anti-Aging Cell Power Creme

Estee Lauder's new Revitalizing Supreme + Global Anti-Aging Cell Power Crème replaces the previous version of this product with the addition of some new ingredients.

This dense gel-cream has a slightly pink color and comes in an attractive jar with a screw on gold lid.

As with the previous version of this product the scent is extremely strong and lasting. The scent is way too strong for a facial product and it seems ridiculous that companies still insist on scenting their products.

Revitalizing Supreme + Global Anti-Aging Cell Power Crème doesn't really absorb or dry. It feels heavy on my skin and sticky, even hours after application. Between that and the fragrance I was quick to wash it off.

Estee Lauder has been studying Moringa Extract and the various potential benefits it has for the skin and has included it in this revamped version.

While the texture of this cream isn't bad, it just doesn't spread well or feel like it is doing anything more than sit on top of the skin. It has numerous ingredients thought to improve skin but the scent prevents me from being able to use it and I am not keen on products that feel mask like.  If companies want to continue over scenting their skin care products they should at least offer an unscented version for those of us who are sensitive to strong fragrances so we too can enjoy these wonderful products.

A 1 ounce jar retails for $52 and a 1.7 ounce jar for $78 at Estee Lauder counters and website.

Company Profile: Olay

Olay, originally Oil of Olay, was founded in South Africa by chemist Graham Wulff, in 1952. Known for their original pink beauty fluid there was little advertising and the product had slight variations in name depending on which country it was being sold in.

After various acquisitions, Proctor and Gamble purchased Olay in 1985 and in 1999 changed the name from Oil of Olay to Olay. Proctor and Gamble expanded the Olay line to include cleansers, toners, and other moisturizers. It is one of the top brands in their portfolio.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Intensive Recovery Ampoules

One of the newest additions to the Advanced Night Repair line is Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Intensive Recovery Ampoules.

These ampoules might remind people of the famous Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Ampoules which have been popular for so long. Ampoules are a way to keep ingredients fresh and reduce the levels of preservatives needed.

While this new product is nice, it is a bit oily and while unscented, it smells a bit like cooking oil. I also didn't feel like one ampoule was quite enough, they are a bit on the small side. They are designed to be applied over Advanced Night Repair to help calm and soothe stressed, reactive skin. Used together Lauder says it improves the skin barrier function after two weeks.

I like that the product is silicone free and felt soothing, but did find it rather oily and I didn't feel that it absorbed very well. It seems to be more about providing a protective barrier rather than absorbing completely. As a huge fan of their Advanced Night Repair I wasn't as enthusiastic about the ampoules. This product seems to be a replacement for their former Advanced Night Repair Concentrate which they discontinued years ago.

This product comes packaged in an elegant jar with a gold lid and it looks expensive. A jar of 60 ampoules retails for $110 at Estee Lauder counters and website.

Ingredients:

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Squalene, Aleurites Molucanna (Fukui) Nut Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Bisabolol, Gardenia Mangostana Peel Extract, Salicornia Herbacea Extract, Magnolia Officials Bark Extract, Salvia Hispanica Seed Extract, Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile) Flower Extract, Rosmarinus Officials (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Seed Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Camellia Sativa Seed Oil, Vacinnium Myrtillus Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Cholesterol, Linoleic Acid, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, BHT

L'Oreal Double Lift Face Treatment

L'Oréal updated their popular lifting cream gel with this newer version that contains double the lifting ingredients.

The dual chamber, red plastic container contains a lifting gel in one chamber and a moisturizing wrinkle cream in the other. The product is kept separate until it is dispensed. The cream is typical of other L'Oréal moisturizers in that it is white and creamy, while the gel is red and more serum like in texture. While the product is noticeably scented, it is lighter than most L'Oréal products and very similar to L'Oréal owned Lancôme Renergie. The packaging is attractive but feels inexpensive.

Once applied to the face this cream gel mixture spreads easily and absorbs quickly. It doesn't appear to ball up like so many other L'Oréal creams and serums do. I did feel a tightening of my skin after application and felt that my skin was moisturized. Alcohol is listed quite highly on the ingredients deck and therefore it might be too drying for some. I prefer to avoid products with alcohol because it does seem to make my skin drier.

A one ounce bottle of L'Oréal Paris Revitalift Double Lifting Face Treatment is available at most mass market stores and retails for $20 or less.

Estee Lauder Revitalizing Global Supreme Moisturizer

Estee Lauder Revitalizing Global Supreme Moisturizer is one the newer products from the cosmetics powerhouse.

This highly scented facial crème feels quite dense and heavy on the skin. It feels more like a facial mask on me as it doesn't seem to absorb. This silicone based crème instead sort of sits on the surface. While strongly scented at least it is a more pleasing scent than some.

As with most Estee Lauder products, this crème is formulated with highly regarded ingredients and is designed to help with numerous problems such as wrinkles, tone, and firmness. It makes my face feel smooth and the texture feels luxurious. A lighter, lotion, version with sunscreen would be nice.

Sold in 1 ounce and 1.7 ounce jars with screw on gold lids, this crème retails for $50.00 and $75 at Estee Lauder counters and website.

Ingredients:

Water, Dimethicone, Isohexadecane, Glycerin, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, PEG-10, Dimethicone, Butylene Glycol, Pentylene Glycol, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Phyllostachys Nigra (Bamboo) Leaf Extract, Hordeum Vulgare (Barley) Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Narcissus Tazetta Bulb Extract, Whey Protein/Lactis Protein/Protéine Du Petit-Lait, Caffeine, Sucrose, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Sorbitol, Polysilicone-11, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seedcake, Isododecane, Acetyl Glucosamine, Ergothioneine, Propylene Glycol Dicaprate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Propylene Carbonate, Tocopheryl Acetate, PEG-32, PEG-6, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Polyethylene, Citric Acid, Fragrance, Sodium Citrate, Disodium EDTA, BHT, Phenoxyethanol, Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499)

Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Refining Moisture Cream Complex

Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Refining Moisture Cream Complex is one of the company's classic products that remains popular. This extremely emollient cream is lightly scented, similar to cold cream, with a rich, buttery texture.

This thick cream doesn't really absorb but rather coat the skin and is best for very dry skin types not prone to breakouts. The scent is light but noticeable. Why companies continue to scent their facial skin products is interesting since fragrance can sometimes be the cause of irritation. Companies seem to think they must perfume their products to make them seem more luxurious but that can keep people from being able to use them. This product is more of a barrier cream much like the company's Eight Hour Cream. It provides moisture by protecting the skin's moisture from evaporation which can be helpful to people with extremely dry, irritated skin. However, for those with acne prone skin it might cause breakouts which is what it did on my skin after one use.

Available in an elegant jar, a 2.5 ounce jar retails for $55 at the Elizabeth Arden counter and website.

Ingredients:

Water (Aqua), Glycerin (humectant), Stearyl Alcohol, Isopropyl Myristate, Squalane, Cetyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 60, Beeswax (Cera Alba), Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Retinyl Palmitate (vitamin a), Allantoin, Panthenol, Sodium Tetraborate, Fragrance (Parfum), Benzyl Benzoate, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Hydroxycitronellal, Limonene, Linalool, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben and Propylparaben

Estee Lauder Swiss Performing Extract

Estee Lauder has always been a company of innovations. Swiss Performing Extract was one of those innovations, and despite it having been around for decades, it still is in some ways. Although it doesn't contain some of the newest buzzword ingredients it contains other ingredients that are just recently becoming more mainstream.

Estee Lauder Swiss Performing Extract is a light, serum like, white liquid, lotion that has a slightly herbal scent. The texture of this lotions is extremely light and absorbs quickly. The scent is also light and not overly perfumed like so many other Lauder products. It contains Grape Seed Oil which has become a mainstream ingredient for products such as skin and hair care.

It absorbs quite quickly and leaves my face feeling moisturized but not greasy. The scent fades after application which is good for those averse to wearing perfume on their face. The scent is also gender friendly since it is not floral. It does not contain sunscreen so that makes it more of a night time use product.

The white milk glass bottle with gold screw on top contains 3.3 ounces of lotion and retails for $58.00 at Estee Lauder counters and the Estee Lauder website.

Ingredients:

Water, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Butylene Glycol, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Squalane, Propylene Glycol Dipelargonate, Petrolatum, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Cetyl Esters, Glyceryl Stearate, Isostearic Acid, Soluble Fish (Pisces) Collagen, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Wheat Germ Glycerides, Tocopheryl Acetate, Caprylic/Capric/Myristic/Stearic Triglyceride, Dimethicone, Stearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Laureth-23, Fragrance, Ethylhexylglycerin, Aminomethyl Propanol, Carbomer, Limonene, Linalool, Hexyl Cinnamal, Geraniol, Citronellol, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Isoeugenol, Eugenol, Benzyl Salicylate, Disodium Edta, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Phenoxyethanol
